Making a difference in the North of Namibia

In March 2007 our Chairman Mr Paul van der Vijver was bestowed with the honour of being knighted as Count of the Order of the Cheetah of the Kingdom of the Ondonga by His Majesty King Emmanuel Kauluma Elifas

With this new relationship Leading Lodges of Africa recognised that this remote community is in need of help and we as a ‘leading’ company in Namibia have a social responsibility and an opportunity in making a difference in this area. This relationship was the birth of the Live Life Foundation.  The Orphan Village Project was set into motion for the welfare of the orphans in the area that are victims of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. This Orphanage will accommodate approximately 100 children.

With the help of sponsors such as Leading Lodges of Africa, BCI, Holcim, Trans Namib and the Valombola Vocational Training Centre the first phase of project is about to begin. The objective is offering the children, homing, schooling and medical care, thus the project will include housing, a nursery, a school and a clinic. With a view into the future the long term goal of this project will be to offer the community training and equipping of caregivers, aids education and awareness programs for the youth and adults.
